Shay & Calan – July 23, 2016 – Pleasant Valley Farm – Lucas, OH

Shay & Calan got married in a private ceremony on July 23, 2015 but wanted to celebrate with their family from Texas and Ohio so one year later they decided to do it all over again.  And let me tell you these two have enough passion and love for each other to make vows to each other yearly and not leave a single dry eye in the house.  Of course, with the Texas contingent in town came the hottest day of the summer with the added tweak of Ohio humidity (Texans voted unanimously that their dry heat is much preferred) that only could be combated by the cool shade trees and breeze flowing off the lake and through the grounds at Pleasant Valley Farm .

The venue was a rustic dream come true and Shay & Calan added so many beautiful little touches that made it simple and perfect.  With all the friends and family they had wanted there the first time these two spoke from their hearts about the journey of the first year of marriage and how while it has not all been easy and honeymoonish it has only served to strengthen their love for each other.  She cried, he cried, I cried, everyone was deeply touched by their words to each other….and then we partied!

I even saw something too cool that I’d never seen before. And new things at weddings are quite a rarity for me and this one tickled me greatly.  The couples children along with all the nieces and nephews and other children in attendance were invited to open up the dance floor by having a candy party!  The Bride & Groom tossed handful of candy out and the kiddos merrily gathered up bagfuls of the sweet stuff to enjoy.  What a great idea for a child-friendly reception!  And just another way that this husband and wife show their thoughtfulness and playfulness.  Maybe we can do it again next year?

Brandi & Walt’s Wedding – July 16, 2016 – The Metropolitan Centre in Canton, OH

What a day, what a ton of emotion!  Brandi and Walt’s wedding had it all and a double rainbow too!  While Walt and his guys hit the basketball court the ladies pampered themselves while they got their hair and make-up done.  And the results of the pampering were spectacular!  Their wedding ceremony was held on the rooftop of The Metropolitan Centre in Canton on a beautiful July afternoon that held just one random thunderstorm that delayed the ceremony a little bit but that left behind an amazing double rainbow!  What a beautiful blessing by Mother Nature for the new Mr. & Mrs.!  After the rings and vows were exchanged they honored tradition by jumping the broom and off we went on the party bus (dancing and celebrating all the way!) to take some photographs at the always grand McKinley Monument before returning to The Metropolitan Centre for their reception.  In a day that held many surprises, including an amazing choreographed dance number by the Bride & Groom, the newlyweds did a quick outfit change and made a second Grand Entrance which opened up the dance floor and got the celebration truly going on!
