Betsy and Marshall’s wedding was the epitome of love and romance! While they live in Omaha, Nebraska, these two came back to Marshall’s hometown of Cuyahoga Falls to begin their life as husband and wife. Dr. and Mrs. Hyden were introduced by their Matron of Honor, Karla, who spent a couple of years getting to know Marshall and upon seeing what a wonderful man he is introduced him to Betsy. Their connection was instant and it was not long before they knew their path in life was to be walked hand in hand. They light each other up, make each other laugh and boy howdy do they do a fabulous dance to Meatloaf’s “Paradise by the Dashboard Light”. And being a not so closet Meatloaf fan I about swooned with joy when they rocked that out at their reception.
I absolutely have a bucket list of venues I would love to photograph at and having driven past the classically adorable Pilgrim United Church of Christ in Cuyahoga Falls a zillion times it was absolutely on my list. What looks like a sweet little white wedding chapel is hiding a photographer’s dream of spacious and gorgeous rooms to get ready and a lovely sanctuary as well. Reverend Bruce performed the sacrament with touching and heartfelt words that perfectly reflected the love this couple has for each other.
Once joined in matrimony the couple exited to whirlwind of cheers and bubbles and came under direct bubble storms by Betsy’s cutie patootie daughter and Flower Girl, Lucy, and Marshall’s great-niece, Stella as well. We headed down to the Cuyahoga River for the Newlywed and Bridal Party photos and enjoyed the cool breezes and much laughter as we strolled along the river.
Betsy and Marshall’s reception at Akron landmark The Tangier was a whirl of dancing, delicious food (seriously, they are #1 for wedding dining and I have had a LOT of wedding food!) and the newlyweds flitted throughout greeting friends and family, but always whirled back into each other’s arm for spin after spin on the dance floor! They are equally vivacious and caring, but when they come together they are at their best and I wish them a lifetime of love and happiness!
Special shoutout and thanks to my partner in crime (we do shoot people, y’know), Heather of Heather Pelko Photography, LLC. She is the best shoe arranger, schedule keeper and simply a fantastic photographer to have by my side.
